What a whirlwind of a year so far!
Has it flown by just as fast for you? I feel like I blinked and Summer is halfway over!
It always seems like I have all these great intentions, but I have to admit the year hasn’t gone quite as planned so far- and that’s okay! I am running with it and I’ve got some exciting things planned. But first, a little recap of the past few months.
March:
This month began with a trip to Tennesse to visit my friend and make new friends, too! I did what I believe was at least a 7 mile hike (which is about 7 more miles than I'm used to) and I was really proud of myself for keeping up with the group! We also painted handmade pottery tiles for my friend's property which was a lot of fun- still waiting to see how they came out!
Throughout this month I enjoyed the weather and the flowers and mainly did a lot of work prepping for my friend's wedding. I handmade her gift (which took a lot of time) and I had trouble finding an outfit. But it all worked out well in the end! I also made strawberry jam for the first time this month which I have to say was highly delicious.
April:
I spent my birthday with my twin sister and my mom in Florida at the beach and that was just lovely. I got to spend some time relaxing and reading and it was just what I needed! I finally read the last two books in Leigh Bardugo's Grishaverse and they were just as good as the rest of her series. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good fantasy series to try!
The month concluded with a heartwarming pop-up shop at a boutique in Hendersonville. I received such nice comments about my art and met a lot of nice people. I really lovely way to end the month.
May:
May was the month I concluded my whirlwind traveling spurt. I started out the month in Charlotte celebrating Mother's Day with my mom and my sister. We had a really great weekend with lots of quality time. The highlight for all of us I think was the surprise Northern Lights sighting from my sister's balcony overlooking the skyline!
Next was a trip to the big apple! My friend got married at St. Patricks Cathedral and then had her reception on a yacht on the Hudson- quite the fancy affair! It was the loveliest wedding with the most wholesome couple and sweetest guests. I felt so blessed to be a part of it! I also got to spend some quality time with my sister which was a bonus, and I got to sketch at Ralph's coffee! I feel like I got my artist spark back and it was really invigorating. Our favorite stop was dinner at this cute family Italian restaurant with the piano bar where we got the whole restaurant to sing along to a few of the songs!
I ended the month with a little family beach trip to Seabrook Island- one of our favorites!
June:
This month I had plans to stay home! I was actually so excited not to have any travel plans. It was nice to enjoy home and I had a surprise-- my hydrangeas blossomed the best ever! I enjoyed them all month long. And speaking of hydrangeas- have you seen my latest painting? I set up my easel with my hydrangeas and had the most fun afternoon getting messy and painting outside. One of my favorite memories so far from this whole year!
July-- what's ahead:
The month has just begun yet I already feel it slipping away! I had a nice Fourth of July with my mom and since then have been working diligently at getting a few new products up in my shop and (can you believe it) working on Fall stuff. I know it's early, but I have to prepare early so I can be on time! I'm really excited to share with you what I've been working on. I think it's going to be my favorite thing I've ever done! Hint- it's cozy!
